Sol is a professional paddle tennis teacher and arguably the greatest doubles player ever.

He began playing paddle tennis at 10 years old at the Brighton Beach Baths in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was the Pro at the Sand and Sea Club in Santa Monica, CA from 1985 until its closing in 1991. He was also the paddle tennis pro at the California Yacht and Paddle Tennis Club. Sol has given lessons to hundreds of members at the various beach clubs in greater LA along with private estates.

Sol has appeared in a television show called the Sunkist Super Kids where he gave one of his students a paddle tennis lesson.

Playing Record

Sol has played in and won over 100 men’s doubles tournaments. He is the only player who has won National Men’s Championships over four decades (1970’s, 1980’s, 1990’s and 2000) and has won more National Men’s Doubles Championships than any other player.

He has won the four major National Championships in Men’s Doubles in the same year (New York, California, Florida and South Carolina). He and his partner, Scott Freedman, are the top-ranked Doubles Team in the upcoming 2003 Naxcom U.S. Open of Paddle Tennis. This tournament will be aired on the Tennis Channel.

Sol’s love for the game turned into his profession as he still teaches paddle tennis to individuals throughout Southern California. Sol is also the sole distributor of the Viking ICE paddle.

Sol is married, has two children and resides in Southern California.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Sol won his first national title at the tender age of 17 years and has continued to win the Men’s National Doubles championships for the last 28 years. He has won the National Men’s Doubles championship with five different partners. He has won 23 National Men’s Doubles championships held in California and New York. He is an 18-time U.S. National Beach Champion. He has won the National Mixed Doubles championship 2 times. He is the four-time Western U.S. Men’s Doubles Champion. He is the former U.S. National Jr. Platform Tennis Champion. He has been ranked nationally In three different sports: Platform tennis; paddle tennis and paddle. He has been endorsed by numerous racquet companies including Marcraft and Viking. Inc.
